In Bruges
Colin Farell and Brandon Gleeson star in this dusty, dark comedy as Ray and Ken, 2 hitmen that just can't quite seem to make things work out. It is a brutal and funny film that touches on friendship and purpose in life all set in the grey wash of Bruges.
Threads
Can't say I found this one enjoyable at all, granted an atomic bomb hitting Sheffield leaves much to be desired inherently, but this concept along with all the flat dialog of people with no hope and an infinite array of problems left me feeling hollow. The pacing being so slow also didn't aid the watching experience. I did however enjoy the northern-ness of it all and appreciate the consitent visuals throughout.
Ghost In The Shell
This 1995 animated film was a peculiar and interesting watch that stands the test of time. The old-school art style perfectly suits the sci-fi aesthetic with high quality animation to go along with it. The opening scene falling of the building was stunning and set the tones for the rest of the film, exploring complex interesting themes of AI and soul in equally intersting and complex characters. As far as sci-fi films go I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Focus
The film follows Nicky (Will Smith) and Jess (Margot Robbie) as thieves taking up a typical master and apprentice dynamic. The concept of the film is standard and pretty much as you would expect with a couple of twists near the end. I can't think of anything spectacular about this movie to be honest, it was a fun watch and acted well but needed a little more depth...for lack of better phrasing.
Parasite
One of the best endings and twists of any film. Every character is fleshed out and endearing in their own way, each with unique skills and flaws that ultimately determine their individual endings. It is worth watching multiple times as originally overlooked plot points and circumstances completely change the experience from the first viewing. This film is comical and clever, dramatic and chaotic.

But I'm A Cheerleeder
Absolute banger of a film, funny, relatable, filled with colour, a good sound track and great characters. Also, RuPaul really shone in the blue on blue fits it was giving camp Lorax, a true marvel.
